PRF - Protein Rich Fibrin
What Is SkinPen Microneedling with PRF?
SkinPen is the first FDA-cleared microneedling device on the market, and at Skin Lobby we take it a step further by pairing it with Platelet-Rich Fibrin, or PRF. PRF is derived from a small sample of your own blood, which is spun in a centrifuge to concentrate your natural growth factors into a golden serum. When applied during your microneedling session, it absorbs directly through the microchannels created in your skin, reaching the deeper layers where healing actually begins.
The tiny needles trigger your skin's repair response, which on its own would stimulate collagen and elastin production. Add PRF to the equation and you're supercharging that process. The growth factors signal your skin cells to regenerate faster and more efficiently, which means better results, smoother healing, and a more noticeable glow that builds over the following weeks.
What Can It Treat?
SkinPen microneedling with PRF is one of the most versatile treatments we offer because it works at the cellular level to improve nearly every aspect of skin quality. It's especially effective for acne scars and textural irregularities, which can be some of the most stubborn concerns to address. Over a series of sessions, the controlled injury and subsequent healing process gradually breaks down old scar tissue and replaces it with fresh, smoother skin.
Beyond scarring, this treatment is wonderful for fine lines, dullness, enlarged pores, and uneven skin tone. Many clients also love it for hyperpigmentation and sun damage. Because it works by stimulating your own biology rather than introducing foreign substances, it's safe for all skin types and tones and tends to be well-tolerated even by those with sensitive skin.

Here is what you can expect from SkinPen microneedling with PRF at Skin Lobby.

How many sessions will I need?
Most clients see their best results after a series of three sessions spaced four to six weeks apart, though some concerns may need more.
Is there downtime after the treatment?
You can expect some redness and mild swelling for one to three days, similar to a mild sunburn. Adding PRF may actually reduce downtime compared to microneedling alone.
Does it hurt?
A topical numbing cream is applied before your session to keep you comfortable. Most clients describe the sensation as a light vibration or warmth.
When will I see results?
Initial improvements in skin texture and glow are often noticeable within one to two weeks, with continued improvement over the following months.
